Music

As well as visual art I also play a bit of music. During lockdown I started writing and recording tunes – here are a few of them.

Castarnou

Just a little acoustic ukulele tune I worked out while on holiday in France.

Leap Day

Another acoustic uke track playing around with odd time signatures.

Folk Muzak

The result of rummaging around in the percussion collection.

Static Caravan

A friend pointed me in the direction of an unusual ukulele tuning which lends itself to unusual harmonies which lead to this tune.

Complete Cookery Course

The electric piano sound on my synth always sounds so laidback that I had to put together something in that mood.

Vaccinator

This funky guitar riff seemed to match my optimistic mood walking home from my first Covid vaccination – so I decided to name it for the wonderful people who made that happen.

Pineapple and Cheese

I love a bit of cheesy surf-guitar, so why not play it on a ukulele instead.

Drifter

This bit of instrumental guitar is based around that lovely lead guitar sound of the Fender Stratocaster.

Bonfire

Some instrumental guitar but also featuring the theremin in true surf-guitar tradition.

Tranquilliser

A bit of electronic dance music resulting of playing around with some new synth sounds I had just acquired.

Open Your Eyes

Ambient electronica makes very little use of ukuleles – this is my attempt to address the imbalance.
